"Gucci" Taste with a "Target" Budget
The fashion icon, Iris Apfel, recently said "Style is not about wearing expensive clothes. You can have all kinds of money and have no style at all."
High-end designer fashion often comes with an equally high sticker price. From an early age, I was on a quest to find places which sold these fashion brands at a discount. These became my places for discovering "finds".
Then, someone told me about Loehman's
Loehmann's was a place which sold designer samples--one of a kind which sold for next to nothing. They were in sizes so small that hardly anyone could fit. I, being the "boo-less" Double-Zero-P that I was, could fit into these designer samples That's why it was so much fun to shop at Loehmann's! For years, Loehmann's was "my" place to find "finds"!
Along the way, I worked at Strouds Linens
Strouds sold fine linens for extremely low prices. If one had "Palais Royal" or "Pierre Deux" taste, but a "Target" budget, Stroud's was the place. They also had an area called "Strouds Extras" where they sold items that their buyers overbought. This was another great place to get "finds"!
